ACTION

A requirement was successfully satisfied to provide nuclear grade stainless steel to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. As a requirement, the steel was ultrasonically tested, alloy identity tested, heat treatment and liquid penetrant tested.

DGI worked with Tube Methods, a DOD-approved contractor, to procure, test and deliver the required steel.

RESULT

The steel pieces were delivered ahead of schedule to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard without incident. The entire lot of Nuclear Grade Stainless was inspected by the DCMA with no defects.
