ACTION

A requirement exists to support and captivate the UH-1Y and AH-1Z aircraft Tail Rotor Blade Strap during maintenance to prevent damage to the Strap or Blade. The TRB Strap Protector Assembly was developed by the Navair engineering group to protect the Tail Rotor Blade Strap on the UH-1Y and AH-1Z aircraft during maintenance.

DGI prides itself in working with established and trusted subcontractors to facilitate the highest quality parts/assemblies and kits for the warfighter. DGI provided manufacturing and kitting/assembly solutions and services for Navair Engineering Group on the H-1 platform, using its knowledge to manufacture and coordinate program kitting and sub assembly objectives, and ensured quality testing was performed on all critical items

RESULT

All 34 (6 boxes) HUMS load cable assemblies and 197 (4 boxes) TRB strap protector assemblies were inspected by the DCMA with no defects. The units were delivered ahead of schedule to NAVAIR without incident. DGI has since been awarded two additional contracts from the DLA to procure HUMS Cable Assemblies.
