ECS Test Port Pressure Sets 2019
STATEMENT OF WORK
ACTION
There have been hypoxia issues with the F/A-18 aircraft, which have resulted in the loss of aircraft, and which have a very serious chance of resulting in loss of life. The F-18 ECS system pressure is measured, via ground test ports at eleven stages of the ECS to ensure adequate air flow to the cabin and avionics. ECS test gauges are directly related to prevention of Physiological Episodes (PE) which are the top safety concern for Naval Aviation.
DGI procured materials and services to manufacture, assemble, inspect, package, ship, and deliver to the Government a quantity of 45 TPPTSs. Each TPPTS was serialized sequentially, starting with S/N 001DGI and DGI supplied the calibration data for each gauge in the TPPTS, including the gauge part number, serial number, and gauge calibration date.
RESULT
All 45 units were inspected by the DCMA with no defects. The units were delivered ahead of schedule to NAVAIR without incident. DGI has since been awarded one additional contract from the DLA to procure ECS Pressure Test Port Sets.
