ACTION

March 2020 D. Gillette Industrial Services was contracted to address the manufacture, assembly, and delivery of the F/A-18 EFG Horizontal Stabilator Bore Gauge Measurement Kit. The Bore Gauge Kit is used to measure the Horizontal Stabilator Bores on F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft, specifically the inside diameter of the Bushings which the aircraft spindle bearings ride against. The objective of this effort is to procure the measurement kits required to support the F/A-18 SE Return to Readiness Initiative.

DGI worked with Willrich Instruments to procure the Bore Gauges with very specific tolerances. The items were procured, inspected, tested, and delivered in advance of the contract deadline.

RESULT

The bore gauge kits passed DCMA inspection with zero defects.
