Oven Roller Project
PROBLEM
SOLUTION
Oven roller set pins would break over time, allowing roller to break free from shaft and disrupt line function. Removal and replacement of rollers required extensive manpower and time, as rollers were heavy and difficult to handle.
DGI developed a solution of installing hex broached internal shaft hubs. These hubs were welded into place and the shafting material was solid hex material turned down on the ends to fit the bearings already in use.
RESULT
No major change to the lines was needed. This improvement solved the problem and saved hundreds of man hours per week in six facilities nationwide.
